The Blessing of the Fleet was first introduced to Fremantle by Italian migrantfisherman in 1948 and is a celebration of fishing traditions, religion and the
wider Fremantle community.
The colour and pageantry of this event are the heart of what makes Fremantle special.
The Blessing of the Fleet parade leads down to Fishing Boat Harbour and is combined with entertainment on the boardwalks followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
